I found your blog via crit match. I hope I’m not stepping out of line saying this, but you must be very careful posting whole chapters online these days.

Any writing posted these days placed on a site without password protection is considered published. Some publishers have started to search online to see if parts of the book they’re considering are online.

This piece is most entertaining! Sadly, the sentences, not to mention the paragraphs, are longer than a lowly mind, such as mine is, can easily handle. (I find it easier to comment upon the work of others than to write my own.) Nevertheless, I salute it as excellent & will sally forth at it again.

What I have not so far heard you mostly-harmless Bush-knockers do is question Jeffersonian Democracy itself. In the Westminster System, the Head of Administration is an elected, removable Member of our house of represenatives (Commons) as are EACH ONE OF HIS Cabinet Ministers.

The system of competition twixt President and Congres is supposed to guarantee freedom and wise government. However, I think its original designers would now be leading the way in promoting its reform. We in UK ought to adopt your Senate. You in US need to adopt our Commons.

The Presidents of Germany, Ireland and Israel (by good luck our royal system suffices at present) are the right model for your new system. President Gore would do well cutting ribbons and filling gaps, ONLY. Prime Minister Bush (human) would have done …as well as may be expected.
